NFL’s Latest Mock Draft For Texas Star Charles Omenihu

The latest mock from highlights a top member of the Texas Longhorns and where he could go in April.Draft analyst Chad Reuter released a new mock draft on Tuesday with the first three rounds on display. The only Texas player on the draft in those first three rounds is defensive lineman Charles Omenihu.Reuter projects that Omenihu will be drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the draft with the 78th overall pick. He noted that the senior Texas player could play two ways as both a run stopper and pass rusher.Omenihu could become a strong two-way end for the Dolphins, possessing the strength to play the run and motor to attack quarterbacks.Omenihu’s production at Texas increased in each successive season during his four years at Texas. 2018 was his breakout campaign as he finished the season with 45 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks – all of which were career-highs.For his career, Omenihu has 115 tackles, 30.0 tackles for loss, and 16.5 sacks. He also has four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one pass defended.The Longhorns finished 10-4 on the season this past year, losing to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game before upsetting Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.[]last_img
